Post Production
Keeping in mind the time constraints, we started the post production process very early with the intention of doing post production parallely as we finished the shoot. As soon as we finished animating a shot, we would add it to a rough edit file in Adobe's Premiere. Through the production of the film we were trying to arrange and plan our shots in order to eliminate 'imperfections', things that shouldn't be visible to the spectators. But in many cases that was impossible. We used Adobe's After Effect to correct those 'imperfections'. For instance in some shots it was inevitable to use rigs for animating the puppet properly, which were obviously visible in the shot, such scenes were corrected in after effects. But even in these shots keeping in mind the post production, we placed the rigs in such a way that they didn´t cross other objects in the shot. In other cases we had to erase things like blue tack or the holes in the platform from the tight downs (walk of the puppet). Also some times we had to erase things in the background that we noticed later.
When all this was done we export every shot in good quality in After Effect correcting slightly the colour, where it was necessary. Parallel to that process, the rough montage had reached a point, so we import those shots to Premiere for the final edit including the sound.
